Energy Center Entrepreneurship Workshop

August 11 - 12, 2022 | Innovation Campus Conference Center 2nd Floor

As a past or current funded member of the Nebraska Center for Energy Sciences Research (NCESR), you are invited to participate in a two-day Entrepreneurship Workshop. You'll hear from experts about topics ranging from "Identifying Opportunities and Value Propositions" to "Funding Your Startup" and lots of steps in between.

This experience will help you learn more about commercializing your research, especially through the avenue of a startup company. Even for those who do not want to start a company, you'll gain valuable skills such as how to present about your research to non-experts, and you'll hear about other opportunities for getting involved in further training and development.

There is no cost for you to register and participate in this workshop.

Day One: Thursday, August 11

3:00 - 3:15pm BREAK
3:15 - 5:00pm Craft Your Pitch Deck - Participants should work on their pitch decks as a team. Teams will consist of those working on an Energy Center Cycle Project. If only one person from a Project can attend the workshop and does not want to pitch/present alone, we can help you join a group with others. Coaches from Innosphere and NUtech will be available for one-on-one help throughout the afternoon.The Team Pitch Decks will be presented on Day Two.

Day Two: Friday, August 12

10:00am - Utilizing Market Research/Sizing your Market
10:45am - 11:00am BREAK
11:00am - Funding your Startup
12:00pm - Getting involved/training opportunities
12:30pm - WORKING LUNCH (lunch will be provided) - Guest panelists from local entrepreneurship and funding organizations will introduce themselves and their organizations over lunch
Immediately following lunch - Present Team Pitch Decks and receive feedback from the panel
~2:00pm Closing
