2. RESIDENCY CATEGORY

The PPVM is only able to admit applicants who have been granted Nebraska residency for tuition purposes. The UNL Undergraduate Office of Admissions determines residency status of all applicants. The PPVM Admissions Committee will only review applicants who have been granted residency status at the time of application. Provide the requested information for the ONE category (A, B, C, or D) which applies to your circumstances:

A. If you are attending or have previously attended a University of Nebraska system campus as a Nebraska resident, answer the following questions regarding your attendance. Select all campuses attended.

B. If you have never attended a University of Nebraska system campus but you graduated from a Nebraska high school, submit a copy of your high school transcript (with graduation date listed) or diploma to the PPVM office.

C. If you have never attended a University of Nebraska system campus as a Nebraska resident and you did not graduate from a Nebraska high school, but believe you currently meet the Nebraska residency requirements, complete and submit the UNL Application for Residency Classification for Tuition Purposes to the PPVM office.

I will submit a completed Application for Residency Classification for Tuition Purposes with the appropriate documentation for my category to the PPVM office (see Document Submission section below).

D. If you are not currently a Nebraska resident but expect to establish residency by May 31, 2027, you may submit the UNL Application for Residency Classification for Tuition Purposes with the appropriate documentation (redact Social Security numbers and other confidential personal information prior to submission) between March 15, 2027 and March 31, 2027.

It is expected that applicants who apply without having first established residency status will have spoken with the UNL Undergraduate Office of Admissions prior to submitting their VMCAS application and are aware of the steps they need to take to establish Nebraska residency. Application fees to the PPVM are nonrefundable and it is the responsibility of the applicant to determine if they meet all eligibility requirements. Applicants who are extended an offer of admission under the assumption that residency status will be granted at a later date will have their offer rescinded if the applicant fails to achieve residency status.

I am not currently a Nebraska resident. I expect that I will be granted Nebraska residency by May 31, 2027. I will submit a completed UNL Application for Residency Classification for Tuition Purposes with the appropriate documentation for my category between March 15, 2027 and March 31, 2027 to the PPVM office (see Document Submission section below).
